Sexual Offence Risk for Child Protection is a basic level workshop that provides child protection workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess and manage individuals at risk of sexually offending against children and adolescents. The topics covered include:

Defensible decision-making
Offending patterns for contact and child
sexual exploitation material offences
Pathways to sexual offending
Long-term vs. short-term vs. imminent risk
This workshop can be offered in-person or online.
Assessing sexual violence risk factors using the Stable 2007 and Acute 2007
Using dynamic risk factors to inform risk management strategies
Using Risk-Needs-Responsivity principles to manage risk
Communicating risk effectively
Evaluating the quality of risk assessment reports
The in-person workshop is delivered over four days (8 hours/day).
The online version of this workshop is delivered via Zoom, the platform best suited for
Participant engagement and highly interactive exercises. It consists of 22 hours of learning delivered over eight half days (4-hour sessions per day). This schedule maximizes participants’ attention and focus, reduces online fatigue, fits easily into schedules, and minimizes disruptions to an organization’s workflow.
