Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

 

  1. Identify and address factors contributing to reluctance to disclose in children and adolescents, including discord, strong emotions, and ambivalence.
  2. Integrate motivational interviewing techniques to encourage truthful and complete disclosures.
  3. Prepare and use evidence strategically when working with survivors.
  4. Triage witnesses and structure multiple interviews to manage cases with multiple witnesses and perpetrators.
  5. Explain the topics that need to be covered in historical cases, suspicious disclosures, and recantations.
  6. Utilize novel and advanced memory-informed techniques to help interviewees recall details of repeated and historical events.
