Learning Outcomes

At the End of the Workshop, You Will Be Able To:

 

  1. Develop an interview plan tailored to the client and the reason for contact in a manner that leads to safety for children, youth, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds;
  2. Follow informed consent procedures at all times when engaging with clients;
  3. Establish rapport or repair relationships with clients during interactions;
  4. Identify the cause of, empathize with, and work with a client’s resistance through respect and collaboration;
  5. Conduct interviews in a manner that facilitates reliable information gathering when investigating allegations of abuse, assessing a family’s strengths and needs, and developing and monitoring family plans;
  6. Conduct interviews to assess the stated intention of clients;
  7. Use memory-enhancing and motivational techniques;
  8. Appropriately respond to clients’ non-verbal and verbal cues when interviewing;
  9. Manage disruptive behaviours.

  • Full price = $2400/person;
