StepWise 360: Interviewing Children and Youth (ICY) provides you with the basic knowledge and skills needed to conduct effective forensic interviews with cooperative children and adolescents.

The StepWise 360: Interviewing Child and Youth workshop is approved by the National Children’s Alliance as meeting the foundational forensic interview training requirements for Accredited Children’s Advocacy Centers.

Learning Outcomes

At the End of the Workshop, You Will Be Able To:

 

  1. Understand and apply the foundations of effective interviewing.
  2. Apply memory-informed, client-centered, strength-based, culturally agile, and trauma-informed best practices in interviewing.
  3. Explain how the StepWise 360 interviewing principles and goals are important in interviewing.
  4. Describe the dynamics of maltreatment and reporting maltreatment.
  5. Create and use memory-informed questions.
  6. Tailor a forensic interview for children and youth based upon child development.
  7. Apply the StepWise 360 model to conduct comprehensive child and youth forensic interviews.
  8. Effectively analyze interviews to self-reflect and provide peers with feedback.

Pricing

  • Full price = $2400/person;
  • 5% discount for social service workers (police, child welfare, and adult protection) = $2280 / person;
