Groups We Support

The Forensic Practice is committed to helping people help people. Our team acknowledges the valuable work that groups are doing to serve their communities. Currently, we support four different Canadian organizations whose values and sense of commitment to improving lives align with ours.

Shaping a Better Future

We contribute to organizations who safeguard:

The Environment

Voices – Manitoba Youth in Care Network

As in all provinces, child welfare in Manitoba continues to be underfunded, understaffed, and under-trained, yet increasing amounts of duties, expectations, and responsibilities with limited resources. This impacts children in care in so many ways. From advocating in the larger system, to visiting youth at their placements, as well as gathering donations of teddy bears and gifts at Christmas, Voices – Manitoba Youth in Care Network provides support to many Manitoban children year-round.

Up With Women

Up With Women is a growing registered charity with a commitment to help marginalized and low-income women and gender diverse individuals build sustainable, prosperous careers and businesses with the aim of permanently exiting poverty and abuse. The clients they serve experience a large range of setbacks, including recent homelessness, at-risk of homelessness due to poverty, and/or earning a living below the poverty line. Currently, they serve clients residing in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and BC.

Mawi Ta'mk Society

Mawita’mk Society is a non-profit registered charitable society in Nova Scotia. They value and support the gifts of people with disabilities and youth. They aim to provide services and support systems within their cultural community, including work programs, assisted living programs, traditional medicine, cultural workshops, transportation to medical appointments, life skills, and more.

Hyde Creek Watershed Society

Hyde Creek Watershed Society is a completely volunteer-run organization who supports the ecosystems of the Hyde Creek Watershed area. They focus on preserving and enhancing the watershed’s natural salmon and wildlife habitats. They frequently engage in the greater community by participating in local activities and events to promote an understanding of conservation and preservation of the Hyde Creek watershed in BC.
